Hey all! It’s finally weekend, I’ve been looking forward to it so much this week. xD Here’s another lovely Stardust Wink chapter for you all to read. It usually takes me about a week to finish off a chapter, while it takes only a minute to leave a comment. I’d be really happy about those. ;)
Enjoy today’s release~
Stardust Wink volume 5 chapter 24. Luckily Sou doesn’t want to break off his friendship with Anna completely, it looks like he just needs time to make up his mind, so that they can be good friends again. Anna’s really hurt and sad anyway, but then Hinata suddenly returns and cheers her up! And it seems that he’s going to take advantage of the distance between Sou and Anna.

OH-EM-GEE. I just read the chapter (haha, I delayed myself from reading it…) and, and, and, AND, ohmaiigosh, this chapter KILLED the insides out of me. Like really, it did… haha. Well, honestly I never thought Hinata would turn around and pop out such a smackin’ at Anna like that. He seriously knows how to make a reader have his/her moments like that, just like that. And because of this, I feel as though Hinata’s the whole reason why I often get all those “OHMAIIFRIGGINGOSH” or “WAAAAHT. WHAT, WHAT, WHAT, WHAT DA HEO YOU JUSS SAY?!?!” moments when reading this series. I guess you could say it’s just my opinion, but don’t you kind of agree that Hinata’s the main changing affect in the story line? Like he’s ALWAYS the one to change the whole situation and leave you hanging with another, and then you get all these different changing opinions on each character altogether? Well, maybe I’m just crazy. Or, maybe I’m being too overly-shocked/traumatized by this. I thought SouxAnna was going to happen, but I guess that’s why they say ‘you never know’. ♥

Haha, this chapter had the same affect on me too actually, at least when I first saw it and scanned it in. Even without understanding what they’re saying, the pictures can tell you everything sometimes. xD
I love it how Hinata turned the whole situation around, like just when one thought it’d be Sou’s turn to make another move Hinata suddenly shows up out of nowhere and decides it’s his turn lol. And it seems like he’s had the same feelings for Anna all along and has been hiding them pretty well… but I’m glad he’s becoming the more active character now! Both guys are suitable for Anna, both understand her and can tell how she’ll react, but what does Anna REALLY feel, that’s still the question. I’m kinda rooting for AnnaxHinata at the moment (because their lovey moments are just so adorable), but SouxAnna doesn’t seem impossible either. xD

Ahaha, oh yesss, indeed I’m still going on for AnnaxHinata FOR SURE (since that was my whole motive all along *smug*)~ :) It’s just halfway through, it seemed as though Hinata was giving up on Anna *sad face*, but I guess the whole plot is FINALLY beginning. And it’s true, Anna and Hinata were SOOOO cute in this chapter. x’D
Like I think half the time I was just reading the manga like it was nothing until near the END of the chapter, I cried. Screamed. Bashed my computer screen with all the energy I had. AND died. Hahahaha, I think I’m still traumatized. ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ
Well, now that this chapter just HAD to kill me halfway, I’m never going to give up on AnnaxHinata from now on. Like for real. :) Ah, but such a refreshing chapter like this one deserves an even better cliffhanger on the next one, am I riiiiiight? ;) Oh maii, I think I’ll die on the next chapter… xD

Oh, and about how you think Anna REALLY feels, I think she might still be hanging onto Hinata. Why? ‘Cause imo, even though she ‘thought’ she had feelings for Sou, that was only a replacement, for the meantime, for her locked-up true feelings for Hinata. Like similar to Haruta-sensei’s series, I think this one might be typical enough for Anna to go back to Hinata. BUT then again, Haruta-sensei might also be typical enough to make it so that Anna will realize that Sou’s been there for her through thick and thin so she might just turn to Sou instead. Eh, who knows. That’s just my opinion on both scenarios. :) Tell me your opinions, Nevi-sama~ ♥ xD

Ah I do wonder a lot if Hinata was really kinda giving up on Anna at first, to me it seems like he was avoiding falling in love with her since he knew how much Sou loves her. Hinata doesn’t seem the type to fight with other people, let alone take something away from his only/best friend, so it seems likely that he just took the chance when Sou decided to get some distance between him and Anna… a weird move but if you think that the person you love just can’t return the feelings it does start to hurt a lot and you’ll eventually want a break or something. Them being childhood friends really complicates it. xD
I really can’t tell how it’ll end… both guys are always there for Anna, but she gets overwhelmed by her mixed up feelings and other people’s opinion so easily haha. Just remember how Rui and Hime talked her into how special Hinata must be to her too… or she just gave in to Sou’s feelings. Wonder if they’d still be dating if she hadn’t been so confused during that time. xD And wonder what would happen if Kazami made a move lol.

Ah, I think you might just be right about Hinata avoiding falling in love with Anna ’cause after all it does kinda make sense too (I just don’t get why I didn’t think of that… /falls), since his best frwend Sou loved her just as much. :3
Ahaha, I don’t actually find it weird for Hinata to make that move ’cause in all honesty, what better thing can you really do if you have such an open opportunity to get what you want AND not be blamed for it. I mean, it wouldn’t be recalled to as Hinata being such a horrible friend for not respecting Sou’s feelings ’cause Sou is, after all, taking a break between him and Anna. Ah, Hinata’s so kind. He’s only making a move when Sou’s finally lost his will to continue on with what he’s doing; that way, Hinata wouldn’t really be hurtin’ Sou ’cause it’s only fair if he does that~ :) Maybe I might not be making any sense with the ‘fair’ thing to do, BUT I must say, Anna sure has to grow up sometime soon ’cause otherwise she’ll become TOO overwhelmed by them… ’cause I know I would be. o//////o
Well let’s just see what happens (techincally you already know what’s gonna happen so it wouldn’t be that much of a surprise for you when the time comes for the climax to come, although manga usually have a lot of climaxes so this might just be the 40th or 50th climax that’s happened so far, lol…) ’cause I don’t know about everyone else, but, but, but, but, BUT I sure am rooting for AnnaxHinata!~ xD

Hahaha, you’re so right about the 40th or 50th climax xD, there’s probably more to come anyway (at least I hope so), I really don’t want to see Stardust Wink end too soon yet, it’s just such an exciting manga and Haruta forces you to actually think about the characters and you really can’t call it a shallow shoujo read. xD
Sou’s decision to distance himself is still puzzling me though… I mean what could the actual reason be, he’s calling it “I want to return to good friends” again, but is that even possible? They’re friends, that’s a fact, but how can you erase love lol… one can’t just pretend that those feelings have disappeared, they’d break out at some point anyway. I’m kinda thinking Sou’s either trying to find another way into Anna’s heart (the distance thing did work between her and Hinata… they’re closer than ever now) or he’s planning the next move from a safe distance (to confuse her? lol)… or it’s part of his plan (whatever it is haha). And yeah, Hinata definitely doesn’t have to feel guilty or anything, he just took the chance when the way was free… though I can imagine it’ll be really awkward when the 3 hang out together again and 2 of them are a couple. xD

Aiyaiiyaii, I am so with you on Sou. I guess you could say he must be the typical type of smart loving guy to distance himself from Anna only to find a way in her heart, but… urr, that’s a tad bit too late for him now. xD Hinata’s already gotten as far as an advantage from before, and if Sou really is planning on doing what Hinata did, he best be stepping it up a notch ’cause cute little tricks won’t do much for Anna now that’s she all onto Hinata again. :3
Waah, you’re definitely right; I SO don’t want this series to end just yet. It’d be great to know if in the end Anna pairs up with the “right” guy based on their short high school years together with one another. I mean, imo I think the story has YET to unfold its true fandom. I mean, right now we’re all squealing over who gets who, but we haven’t really seen the intense parts yet (until this chapter just HAD to do it *dies*) with how the love triangle is going along. Tbh I think so far we’ve only reached the understanding of the three having been together for this long, and at the same time, it feels like we’re still at the middle-end beginning of the story (even if the climaxes did affect us all in so many ways, bah-ha). It’d be a real shame if Haruta-sensei just ends the story with typical shoujo ways and etc., etc. Right now, I think this is TRULY the best climax we’ve all gotten from this series SO FAR (*rolls… down the stairs to heaven…*) so let’s all hope Haruta-sensei loves her fans and makes the story a strong leading one. :) ♥

Ah, my replies are so out of order LOL. Back to Sou’s decision, I think he’s at a point where it would be typical to understand that he’s not only taking his time but also trying to find a weakness to Anna’s lovable heart (haha) in order to obtain her feelings. There’s just no way he could easily let go of his feelings, which is definitely something I look forward to seeing how things go along with this love triangle, now that it has become clearer that there IS a love triangle (well, at least now that’s how I see it *smug*). ♥ YESH, I’d actually imagine the awkwardness between the three. xD Ha, I think the squirrel (err, forgot the lil guy/girl’s name *sadface*) would definitely help in breaking the silence if ever the chance was to come… xD
Nawww, this can’t ever be a shallow shoujo read. xD If it ever were to be as such like one, I wouldn’t have bothered discussing about it this much. xD Proves how amazing Haruta-sensei truly is when it comes to her shoujo-ness, although I do wish I could see a photo of her (so random… xD). In the end, now that you mention it, I actually do realize I’ve been thinking a lot about the characters more and more than I usually ever do for most of shoujo reads. Man oh man, we all gotta love Haruta-sensei. xD ♥

Haha, comments can’t kill me… if I survived those seriously huge sound effects in The Princess and the Three Beasts (cleaning chapter 1 at the moment), then reading comments is just relaxing. xD
I just saw on Haruta’s blog earlier that chapter 40 is out :D, hope it’ll be summarized soon! I usually only skim through those just to see what’s happening, but I don’t get into details… don’t want to know too much! It’ll really be interesting to see in which direction she’ll go now, Sou was last seen with Aya (a date?) while Anna and Hinata were on a date too… an awkward meeting haha. Sou and Aya make one wonder though if they’re continuing with where they left of, though it seems a little off to me since Sou didn’t feel the same for Aya and was focused on Anna all along… why would he try to love her now then? Maybe he’s just being friends with her, asking for advice or something… I’d find it a little disappointing if he ran straight to Aya just because Anna and Hinata are a couple now, he can’t just give up yet! I want to see him fight some more, even if there’s barely a chance. xD
Ah and as cute as Anna and Hinata are together, I’m still kinda hoping she’ll fall for an “outsider” in the end, someone who isn’t her childhood friend. xD Kazami would be kinda perfect for that but Nanoka seems to own him in a way already haha. Still it’d be easier for Anna if she didn’t have to choose between her 2 best friends, in the end one of them would be hurt anyway and that’s just so unfair. The relationship between them would change then and they automatically wouldn’t be as close anymore. That’s really the last thing I want to see happen in this series, their friendship is the most valuable after all. =)

Ahaha, awww good luck with the cleaning! x3 I actually kinda read the released chapters done by Titania just to satisfy my curiosity already, and man oh man, that’s some cute shoujo. :) I love the “Three Beasts” being together because of how all their personalities are just so different and unique, making it possible for any reader to like all three of them not ’cause they’re bishounen-like but because of their individuality (especially the snake and fox duo ♥). :3 Mmmnyaaa, even though I read some of it, I’ll be glad to read SH’s translations of it since you guys are always so accurate and perfect when it comes to your translations, proofreading, and of course, cleaning (no lie). ;) ♥ After you guys start releasing the series, I’ll stop following Titania’s scans since they’re really slow on the series alone, and yet again of course, to also respect and support my favourite scanlation group to the utmost of my priority. Besides, reading it a second time actually refreshes my memory and entertains me every time. ♥
Anyhow, back onto topic, I must say it’d actually be nice if Haruta-sensei made a huge turn on the story line and made Sou and Aya together, though I felt no chemistry from those two (I actually must be blind because even I couldn’t feel much going on with Aya’s feelings towards Sou either… oh, I’m horrible, haha xD)~ ヽ(´ー`)ノ
Awww yush, it’d be quite intense if Sou kept on trying his best to obtain Anna’s feelings. I’d definitely hate it if the story began to weaken its plot line in terms of the three’s relationship being childhood friends and all. I can’t disagree with what you mentioned either; I mean, if Anna ends up with one of her childhood friends, it would strike such an impact on their friendship, and indeed it would become very depressing if things got worse every time. Oh I would love to imagine AnnaxKazami. xD Although I’m sure that’ll never happen, it’d be nice to see an unexpected change in the plot line once in a while. :3

Ah, I’m so thankful I haven’t read any of the raws of this series yet (or even searched it once on the search engine, ever). If I did, there’d be no point in discussing it or even following your group’s lovely scanlations, so I must say I am quite grateful for that (and since my curiosity often takes over my impatient temper most often, I’m glad that doesn’t occur when I read this manga in particular, ha). :) ♥ Hopefully the story continues on its long journey, and most definitely I hope this one series of Haruta-sensei’s gets licensed into English whether it be by Viz Media or some other licensing-manga company. So far, I’ve bought every licensed volume of Haruta-sensei’s works… well, there’s really only one series that’s been licensed and that was Saboten no Himitsu… sadly, companies just don’t seem to understand the high demand for this series in particular. I mean, Haruta-sensei’s art has gotten much better in this series especially, and the story line actually makes readers want to understand the characters more (just like you mentioned before). Such a shame, but as long as Haruta-sensei alone is continuing the series, that should be more than enough to satisfy me with your group’s scanlations~ :D ♥

Ugh the replies are getting ridiculously narrow, what the heck is wordpress thinking… that we’ll discuss mangas in a few sentences? Haha, as if. xD
And glad you’re liking The Princess and the Three Beasts, we’ve been actually working on it two years ago, at a time with a bunch of other projects too and somehow it got lost lol… so I just started it over again. Loved it back then already and I really want this manga in HQ, so I’m bugging my wrist and removing all of those evil sound effects. =) Editing it is a completely different challenge if compared to Stardust Wink, but so much fun too. I’m totally enjoying it!
Anyway, back to beloved Stardust Wink xD… I have to agree, I haven’t seen any sparkles between Aya and Sou either… but maybe that’s so because we haven’t seen them together really much (unless they really haven’t spent much time together yet) and wonder if they would even work as a couple. It’s definitely at least an option so that Sou wouldn’t end up completely broken hearted and alone in case AnnaxHinata scenario wins in the end. So much to think about and so many options how it could end, it’s kinda hard to wait! And though this will sound evilish now, I hope it won’t get licensed because it seems to me that the current leading companies will hardly do this series the right justice… and seeing it being slaughtered editing and translation-wise…. I’d rather not see an official English version then. xD

Anyhow, yes, I do quite agree with you on the English licensing companies as I am aware of their careless work they do *sigh*. BUT, I only plan on buying the series because a) I wuv the author… she is amazing; I must support her~ xD and b) As I purchase the hardcovers, I will definitely read SH’s scanlations FOR SURE because after all, who wouldn’t want to be any more spoiled than that, to have both hardcover AND great tranlations from your favourite scanlation group. ♥ So yesh, I would feel bad for all those manga-lovers who don’t know about your group if Stardust Wink was licensed. It’d be a shame for those readers if they don’t see the more accurate and graceful scans from SH, but truely, I feel having a hardcover in English (even if its translations alone are awful, hahaha) is still good as long as SH is still scanlating on the series. ;)

I also love HQ scans, but if it means it being troublesome for the group, I’d go along with the medium-quality scans as along as the translation appeal to my liking (yesh, I am desperate for Stardust Wink just as much as any other Haruta-sensei-fan is… ♥). :3 I’m really glad to hear you enjoy what you do best too. xD I’m pretty inexperienced with Photoshop as I haven’t really ever touched Photoshop to begin with. xD
Ah, yush, back to Stardust Wink!~ x3 I can imagine just how Haruta-sensei will take action for Sou and Aya. It’d be so cute if they ended up together, but then again, it all depends on how everything else turns out too, like for instance, the situation between Anna’s feelings and so forth. :) Ah, the excitement we must all get. xD The infinite possibilities Haruta-sensei could possibly use on her series, I can really imagine. Hopefully it becomes one of those famous series that ends up with like 10 or 12 volumes (or, must I say, more than that)… xD Long stories are nice, but it does also get quite exciting to know when will the series actually end in terms of its amount of volumes. I always get that weird anxiety because I feel like the story will never end, yet at the same time, I don’t want it to end… xD Ahyah, ever had that anxiety before? x3 Haha, I always do. Wow, 3 tests? Such a torture lol, hope you’ll relax over the weekend, I mean… you have to! xD Volume 8 of Stardust Wink arrived today btw, it made me so hyper with the handsome Hinata cover. ♥ I guess I’ll be debinding it in a few days (it takes at least 2 or 3 hours to take the book apart xD… I’m also doing it slowly, don’t want to rip pages!), though it hurts me a little every time to debind such awesome books but scanned versions are better in the end anyway, the book paper is awfully yellow. xD Oh and more great news, volume 9 won’t be the last one yet! :D It’ll at least be 10 volumes, so amazing, right?
And I totally know those anxieties lol, I’m dreading Stardust Wink to end but at the same time I want to know when and how it’ll end. It’ll happen eventually anyway, Haruta won’t drag the story on forever xD… but I’m thinking, if she makes an amazing end then we’ll be happy with that too. :)
I love to buy the Stardust Wink volumes (thank god for all the wonderful people who donate too, that’s such a huge help!) even when I don’t understand a word, but just looking at the art makes my heart race. Just kinda wishing mangakas would be more active in terms of having their mangas translated and published in other languages. Instead of having companies earn the most of that money they should just team up with HQ scanlation groups. If we love to invest so much work and free time into scans, just how much better could those get if we were doing it professionally and full time. That’d be a dream. xD

LOOOL, YESH, my heart always races when I read raws online. It’s like given the fact that you don’t understand one word the characters are saying, you already know what’s happening. xD Ohmaiii, that’d be crazy amazing. If you guys were like professionals full-time, your life with your favourite mangaka would be a dream as you get closer and closer to meeting them, and, and, and, and, AND I’d come to envy you all so badly, haha. :’) ♥

So nice to have a long weekend, make sure to enjoy it since it was a stressful week. xD And yep, the pages are actually yellow/greyish… I guess they’re not investing too much into paper quality haha. It took me a while to find the right settings for Stardust Wink, it was quite some experimenting while scanning… but even this can be fun. xD I totally forgot to mention who’s on the limited first edition bookmark, though she’s not my favourite character at all lol, well it’s Mari. And I was so hoping for Hinata’s bookmark, it would be time, right? Hopefully it’ll be his turn in the next volume. xD But after that I have no idea who Haruta could put on the bookmark, unless one of the other characters (maybe classmates) will get a bigger role or something I’d almost be guessing that volume 10 might be the last one… but just guessing here, hope I’m wrong! ;)
Now back to editing, I slacked a little yesterday and didn’t manage to clean as many scans as I wanted, granted there were some heavy sound effects on them too xD, but I just like to have a schedule and a daily goal haha… otherwise I’m feeling like wasting time or something. Better make good use of time, one never knows how much of it is left. Hmmm, that sounded kinda negative hahaha… well let’s just use each day to its fullest. xD

Hey there, thanks for translating this chapter. I noticed you made a mistake on the page where Sou complains about Anna’s cookie. You translated it as “Metamon” when it’s actually “Metapon.” I dunno if you’re going by English or Japanese localizations, but Metapon is Ditto in English.

I think the cookie was in chapter 23, but either way a part of the name was replaced with ” * ” (which Haruta does to avoid copyright conflicts), and none of us is a hardcore Pokemon fan (like Sou lol). I had to look the name up and the closest to the shape and name was Metamon, so apologies to Pokemon fans if I made a mistake there. xD
